January 25, 2004While it looks much the same now, I spent the evening rebuilding this website from the ground up. Frankly, Blogger, the automated publishing tool I've used for years, hasn't improved since I mangled my first website. Meanwhile, they've been radically outpaced. I assume they're working on something impressive with their big Google money behind closed doors, but. But.
And I've missed coding. Endless techno music, eating whatever's not absolutely foul in the fridge at 2 a.m., geeking deep in mucky HTML. It's the loveliest zen way to spend an evening, and guaranteed it'll make you forget about all that.
So, just like everyone else, I've given my digital soul to Moveable Type. It does everything in the world I could want it to do and more -- I'll never have to handcode anything again. How absolutely anticlimactic.
I swear I'll never discuss these tedious issues again. But it was high time I gave some props where they're due.
